Driver Killed In Fiery Crash On Jersey Shore: Njsp

The crash occurred at 10:41 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 on Jonathan Holmes Road in Upper Freehold, New Jersey State Police said.

Preliminary information indicates that a Mercedes Benz traveled off the roadway, struck a tree, and became engulfed in flames, SFC Lawrence Peele of the state police said.

The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver's name had not been released. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
